| I'm not going to bullshit you. This web
site is here because it might increase sales. It, and the store,
might well be a bit quirky and curious, but that's because we've
found it works and the sales figures prove it.
But hey, at least we're honest about it. It's a fair deal – we get a whole bunch of interesting books into the shop for you to read, and you buy them from us. I understand its called "commerce".
If you are interested in a particular title, please let us know via one of the means-of-communication to your right. We shall then check it's availability in store and offer to either reserve it, or should it be neccesary, place a special order for it. This is not a big warehouse in Swindon. This is a major high street store with four floors of books and a dedicated helpline/customer order department. Kick-ass customer service is the order of the day.
This site is mainly aimed at people who are likely to visit
the store, but we can POST BOOKS OUT to any destination
in the known world, for a fee. 10% of the book cost covers Second
Class inland postage... If it's urgent, for a slight increment
to 15% of the book price we can send it First Class Inland.
This percentage point also covers European countries and
Surface Mail. For Air Mail to the rest of the world,
we ask for an additional 20% of the book price.
We accept all major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, plus the Switch, Delta and Solo debit cards. Please remember to include expiry date and issue number where applicable.
Cheques should be made payable to "Dillons The Bookstore".
Book Tokens and gift vouchers bearing the name "Dillons", "Waterstones" or "HMV" are all accepted. We sell them too.
Cash should be of UK legal tender and not be forged.

We're situated in the central shopping area of Birmingham about
half way up New Street where Corporation Street intersects and
the sloped walkway enters the Pallisades shopping center and New
Street Station. The store is a huge white affair with a big blue
flag hanging off the front.
Here's a map of the local area, from one of the maps in our map department
We recommend travelling into Birmingham by public transport, but if you prefer
to drive there is substantial parking around New Street Station,
albeit quite expensive.
If you are travelling specifically to look for a book, please feel free to phone beforehand to check availability.
